nothing to say

i don't have much to say but i am sitting here wanting to write and there you are looking at me, calling me...black on white, do it...write.

it is sunday, it is cold, cold for texas. i don't like this, it makes my skin dry. i am aging. i watch the couples at church, he puts his arm around her, they look down at their little one sleeping on the pew. i am a big girl...life goes on...

and on...

and on...

i finished reading; gilead, the ladies of missalonghi, and am on mister pip (lloyd jones). i watched ratatouille, a pbs show about the weather/water, and the elephant man. the latter made my inside bleed and i have to take a break from media input for a bit.

i am getting tired of celebrities.

i want to join a community of my friends and live in the country and grow my own food and be happy. i want to meet a funny man who has love for me. i want to eat more pomegranates. i want to go to amsterdam in february for the shelter city hostel reunion. i want to use my body more - be active (i exercised today).

on the way home from mom and dad's i heard a poem on the classical station - Edgar Allan Poe's City in the Sea. http://books.eserver.org/poetry/poe/city_in_the_sea.html. i like "time eaten towers", and "But light from out the lurid sea, streams up the turrets silently...". i like "in each idol's diamond eye", and "melancholy waters", and "While from a proud tower in the town Death looks gigantically down".

my friend jane, her son is missing in italy. he may be hurt or confused or worse...no one knows. people are searching for him. she came home this week after being there for a month with her husband. their emotions are raw. no word. http://search4jef.cfsites.org/index.php

Olive Oyl

I became Olive Oyl for a few hours October 31st, 2007. I was a huge hit surprisingly. A photographer even asked for some poses (which I gladly did with my Olivey zeal!). A few people asked where Popeye was and I usually just replied: "no popeye in my life, only brutus' or whimpy's". But, I felt happy. I even jumped in an inflatable castle (called a "moonwalk")...which they deflated while I was in there...but I got some good jumps in beforehand.

A Forearm Message

I write messages on my left forearm in hebrew characters. They are prophetic messages (I'm pretty sure), and they are always scripture.

I am not sure when I started this but the first message was from the old testament and went something like, "...and they will have written on the bells 'Holy unto the Lord' ". So I thought this is something I would like to see on my body (more appropriate than bells).

Next, months later, I wrote: "Comfort, comfort my people, says the Lord" (Isaiah 40). It fit at that time...or I fit in it.

The other day I received some upsetting news. I am not loved as I wished perhaps I was...or could be. Instead the "right" girl is loved. So here I am struggling once more with my emotional health.

Today was ok...to be quite honest. I walked in Laguna Gloria with my caring friends and their babies. We had a picnic in the sun. Then later I watched a movie with my room mate Jessica. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. And we ate homemade popcorn together on her bed.
But...day to day is a struggle.

I have another arm message.

From Revelations 22:17a: "The Spirit and the bride say 'Come'! ".

I am a waiting bride...and I can hear the Spirit. Something is happening these days. And I say COME!...pleeeease come.

It's raining today, it's wonderful. I recently woke up to the sound of it gently tapping on the roof and window.

I dreamt I was having a conversation with a girl I do not know, and did not know. She was an intelligent, highly skilled individual. I would ask her questions and she would look at me with puzzlement and astonishment, "how can you not know that?!". I told her I had a pea-sized brain.
"My brain is small, in fact it is the size of a pea", I said. "They put cotton batting in there so it wouldn't be constantly ricochetting off my skull...and potentially make pea soup. So you will have to excuse me for my ignorance, it is simply due to my pea-sized brain".

I must go feed a fuzzy cat now (I am taking care of it while it's owner is away). I know he is waiting outside the side door for his food.

Ciao

PS Yes Fuzz was outside waiting, licking his lips. He snuck inside quickly...not one for raining days

Days Of Grace

In college I worked hard all week and I decided to rename weekends "The Days of Grace". That which I have instituted remains to this day. Days of Grace entail sleeping-in, not worrying about the events of the week days, playing with friends, and the like. And here we are...Saturday.

My friend Jennifer Stine introduced me to blogging, now, let me introduce you to her. She has Norweigan Blond Princess hair and a good quantity of sarcasm. I will attempt to include a picture. She hails from the northern climes and I think this may be one of the many reasons we may get along especially...the fact that she knows Canadian children programmes from the CBC.

I have another friend. Would you like to meet her as well? Ok. Her name is Madeleine Hernandez (Hi Maddy!). Maddy lives in Arkansas and I just came back from visiting her the last D of G. She and her very cool and wonderful family live in the Ozarks (serene and lovely it is). I really relished my short time with them...I mowed a lawn, watched two movies (I Heart Huckabees and The Lives of Others), ate food (even cooked for them myself!...my signature dish, meatloaf), and spent time talking with Maddy (one of my favourite things to do), and David (I really enjoyed and appreciated David especially this trip), and playing with Jesse (the most brilliant child I think I have ever met, truly!). I also met their new 2 mos old Nathan.

The drive was about 11 hours one way, so that was kind of a chore, but I found it at times quite nice...better even than travelling with someone. Both Jen and Maddy are good friends to me, with amazing minds and hearts. They are stunning people. And though I don't tell them things like that in person, I get to sort of publicly here in print. Anyway...more on some of my other friends at another time. I look forward to introducing you to Mandy and Val sometime (and Katy, Laura, Carla, Nolan, Er-Xin, Rhonda...).

I worked at Sammy's House yesterday (how I met Jen). Not much to say there.

I am also involved in the new tv show Pushing Daisies. I sometimes flinch when I hear the odd cheesy line (especially come from the main male character's mouth), but I am a huge fan of the british narrator thing. And the colours in it are great...and I like the fact that each week is a new case to solve. Not like Heroes (the other show I am very into) where it is an ongoing saga and I always feel desperate for more information when it ends ("nooooo...don't just leave me here!).

In more RobinNews, I tasted my first (real) Mojito the other night at Sampaio's. Hello! Loved it! But $7 for a drink, come on. (Jen & Jessica - Happy Hour 4-6:30 Mon-Fri)

Sat - Parent's coming for the first time to see my home. -oil change -?
Sun - Church, artist group hangout time, Battlestar Galactica viewing with the guys.

Adios.
